Shayne Schwede has been actively managing and adjusting large complex losses in the specialty insurance markets for over 28 years. He is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) accredited by the Insurance Institute of Canada and received his risk management designation (CRM) through Simon Fraser University and the Global Risk Institute.

Shayne started his career as an independent adjuster for a boutique firm in the spring of 1991 quickly gaining market support in the areas of complex liability matters and high profile personal injury cases.  In 2001 Shayne joined the Factory Mutual Insurance Company as a senior level property adjuster based out of Seattle, Washington. After establishing the Vancouver Claims Operations for FM Global, he was promoted to Claims Manager where he continued to adjust significant industrial property claims throughout Canada and South America. His recognized ability to establish professional relationships founded on integrity, expertise, transparency and trust enables Shayne to extend his adjusting practice into highly specialized fields including all aspects of mining, forestry, chemical, power generation, energy and industrial losses.

Beyond adjusting, Shayne has presented numerous technical presentations to executive risk managers, brokers, representatives of the executive suite at Fortune 1000 companies, internal executives and representatives of market underwriters on shared insurance programs. He provides the overall leadership of Spectrum formed on the basis of highly experienced technical loss adjusting services, creative solutions in loss management, and a sensible pragmatic approach catering to our clients’ needs.
